Independence Blue Cross is one of the leading Blue Cross plans nationally and a leader in digital health innovation in the Philadelphia region.

The payer offers several mobile apps, has connected providers and patients via telemedicine, and has taken an early role in adopting web technology like FHIR for data exchange. Independence has pioneered health information, bringing the benefits of care coordination and population health to the people in its region.

More comprehensive views of health and quality have been accomplished through combining EMR data with claims and other data, connecting members and their providers mutually empowered with actionable information.
