As Director of Innovation, Ann-Somers leads innovation consulting projects in partnership with operational owners to develop breakthrough, human-centered solutions that improve patient outcomes and accelerate the transformation of Carolinas HealthCare System. In this role, she leads the team’s environmental scanning efforts to proactively identify emerging opportunities and disruptive trends, developing insights and implications to promote future organizational success. She also trains organizational leaders in the tenets of disruptive strategy, innovation, and user-centered customer discovery methods. Prior to joining Carolinas HealthCare System, Ann-Somers worked for Oliver Wyman, focusing on strategy development and implementation of value-based care models for health insurers.
In this session, Carolinas HealthCare System will review its journey to create a transformative and innovative model of primary care - one built on value, consumerism, team-based care and thoughtful digital strategy. Importantly, the discussion will address the clinical, operational and business challenges of disruptive innovation within a healthcare organization.
